Communication service sessions

I will help you to feel confident about your communication materials so that you can get on with doing your job!

Maybe English is your native language, but you feel more comfortable doing the work or talking to people, and then your mind goes blank when you have to put something down in writing.

Maybe you’ve learned English and you’re already using it at work, but you would like a second opinion about how your ideas come across in another language, tips about cultural differences, or to find out whether something sounds rude, too pushy, or makes no sense because of cultural differences?

I understand these concerns. I used to work as a Communications Manager, and often helped colleagues to get across their message when we had to communicate something to the whole organisation. They had the knowledge, but I helped them to write the message in a way that was clear, made sense, and if action was required, made it easy for people to understand what they needed to do.

Also, I communicate with customers in German all the time, but if I’m going to put out content in German, I often work on it with a native speaker. I want my message to be the best that it can be.

I knew that there were people who feel the same about communicating with customers or staff, so I decided to create the communication service sessions.

Communication devices

These sessions can help you if:

  • You would like to post content on social media sites, but you’re not sure that your ideas come across as you want them to;
  • You want people to find out about your products or services, but you find it hard to explain exactly what you do;
  • You need assistance planning your longer-term content strategy;
  • You would like to create a customised web page or leaflet that talks about your products and/or services in English, rather than just translating your existing content;
  • You have information to post in English-speaking forums or on English-speaking platforms, but you’re not sure how to get your message across to your target audience.;

How does it work?

You can buy a series of 1, 3 or 5 60-minute sessions that we will use to work on your communication materials.
You choose how the time is spent. We can either have online meetings, in which we work on your communications materials together, or we can use part of the time for idea gathering and I’ll then send you the finished texts once I’ve finished writing them.
This is not a proofreading or a translation service. I do offer these services, but if you have a German text to be translated into English, or a pre-written English text to be checked, please visit the relevant pages on my site as these do not require online meetings with you.

How will I know how long a job will take?

Before we start working together, there is a free online meeting to discuss your requirements and what can realistically be achieved in one session. For larger or ongoing jobs, you can send me information beforehand and I’ll tell you how long it will take before I start the project.

Can I book meetings whenever I need one?

So that I can give the best service to all my customers, I need meetings to be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Meetings can take place between 9:00 and 17:00 BST, which is 10:00 and 18:00 CET. If you book a meeting and can’t make it, I can work on other things for you on my own, but if this is not possible, the full price for that session will be charged.

Do you write articles or posts in English for other businesses?

I can help you to write texts that are clear, appropriate for your target audience, and in the style of your choice. However, the ideas and content need to be yours because you are the best person to know about your business, your audience and the tone that you want to use when communicating with your audience. This is not a ghost writing service.

Can I have a regular slot each week?

Yes, if we find a mutually convenient time, you can purchase and book as many sessions as you want, including regular sessions each week. Alternatively, you can book blocks of sessions at times when you know that you will need more help, such as planning advertising activities or product launches.

Can you help me to improve my English?

How much do the sessions cost?

  • 1 x 30 minutes = £30
  • 3 x 60 minutes = £78 (you save £12)
  • 5 x 60 minutes = £115 (you save £35)

If you’re not based in the UK, Paypal will calculate the conversion into British pounds for you using the current exchange rate and display how much this would equate to in your local currency.
Payments are made in advance and you can then book your sessions as you need them.

How do I pay?

I’ll send you an invoice and you then transfer the payment in British pounds. Customers in the UK can use bank transfer or Paypal – details will be on the invoice. Due to the bank charges for international payments, international customers are required to pay by Paypal, or to agree to cover the additional bank charges.
